| The paddles are made by Shaw & Tenney, who have been handcrafting paddles and oars since 1858 in the north woods of Maine. Paddles other than 60" ash are special orders. Sizes range from the 42" children's paddle to a 72" length. In addition to the usual old-growth ash used, woods available include: maple (including bird's eye and wavy maple), spruce, sassafras, cherry, mahogany, butternut and Kentucky coffee. Special order wood types cost an additional $20 to $30 depending on species and style. | |||||||||||||||||||
